'Introduction to Patient and Public Involvement' session available to view online
People in Health West of England delivered an Introduction to Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in Research session on 24 March 2026 which was recorded. This is now available to view on YouTube.
The session will allow you to gain an understanding of what public involvement is, ways that researchers can involve members of the public, and how members of the public can get involved in health and care research.
It defines what public involvement is, the difference between public involvement and qualitative research, funder expectations and practicalities. We were fortunate to have two public contributors there (Kathy Kantor and Adele Webb) who shared their experiences, the benefits and challenges of being a public contributor.
